hey hey, weekend update
so friday, my boss gave me an alternate route to get past the traffic on 35..it helped..i guess, i don't know how bad 35 was, but i wanted to miss the entire downtown section, so i took lamar south to MLK to guadalape/south 1st to 290 and there i was. anyways, i got to the party for my cousin and it was fine, lots of family...some highlights
*having my cousin gibby asking me if i was a fashionista and if so, why did i feel i needed to look so good for the public (he's like 19 and tryign to be really philosophical, i guess, whatever)
*NOT busting out the karoake (*sigh of relief*)
*getting my back adjusted by my new chiropractor cousin...she's not my new cousin, just a new chiropracter...whatever, you get it.
*smoking my new vanilla cigarillos...mmm
so it ended up that my cousins' house was pretty full, so i don't know how i could have brought a guest, it was me, my cousin lisa, rose and her boyfriend thad, erica and her baby, and gibby...whaat? anyways, whatever. i woke up early, rose & thad went to catch their flight, gibby went to work and erica and i got ready for the king williams fair and breakfast, we went to eat at my favorite restaurant! yum! and then went to the fair. it was fun and all, it's $2 now to get in, which is weird, but keeps the crowd down...my cousin lisa drank a lot of beer, and then ran off with her friend, grace, but whatever. highlights:
*lisa getting bombared by all these weird kids
*going to pick up my aunt martha and seeing my (gay) cousin john, who just got a new pug puppy!! eeee! if i ever had any doubt that he wasn't gay, all bets were off when i mentioned it would fit in my purse and he said he needed to get a louis vuitton carrier...mmhmm..
*listening to my mother in denial as she asked if the girl who was with him was his "girlfriend", and my aunt laughing and saying, "no, that's just his friend"
*dreading the end of the parade..it was soooo long, so we left early!
we came back to lisa's house and my mom drove back to austin and we watched phone booth (colin farrell!), then lisa's "friend" called and she started talking to him and then told him off (long story short, he's an asshole and she's been putting up wtih it for a loooong time..yeah i heard about it for 10 hours once) so..anyways i told her earlier this year after she started talking to him again that i wasn't going to listen again...(you just have to hear this to understand)..so after she stopped talking to him she came in to complain and i realized that i definately drop the f-bomb a lot when i got visit my cousins..so basically finally i was just like "LISA! it's not f*ked up! he's the f*king asshole!!!!" and then got up and left to fall asleep, i coudln't handle it.
so..anyways, on a different note, i heart gwen stefani's new songs, but i have 2 things to discuss..."rich girl"..."if i was a rich girl...", i'm sorry, i could be mistaken, but isn't SHE a rich girl?! there is no if about it! and then "hollaback girl"...what the hell is a hollaback girl? i asked my hoodrat cousin and she didn't know, so if anyone knows, let me know. and also, why the heck are b-a-n-a-n-a-s the shit? whatever
i had lunch today with jenni, her sister and sisters' friend, it was fun! i'm excited about black glasses next weekend! yay!
rose:"she's had some beer tonight..."
aunt liz:"no! i didn't drink any beer!!"
lisa:"mom! you had beer?! are you okay to drive?!"
rose:"no lisa, i was talking about YOU!"
