"i couldn't go to sleep 'til you came in"--guster
hihihi
so...i was going to update last night but i was sooo tired! anyways, yesterday morning, we woke up pretty early, got ready, and then started to drive to san diego! (at 10am)...a good 3 hours later (it's supposed to take 1hr 40 mins or so) we were eating lunch at a really great thai restaurant, and then off to the zoo! we started there about 2pm. i'd say we made it about 88% around the park in about 5 hours...which is pretty good. we saw lots of gazelles and weird bull/cow looking things that are from far away asia, lol. i was really ready to see the elephants b/c i LOVE elephants, but they were at the end of our tour. it was a lot of walking, but some of the best things about it was a one-armed monkey and sea otter playing (why they were in the same cage i don't know) but it was really great, the poor crazy polar bear (i didn't think it was funny, it was sad, i think he was really going crazy), the posing hippo who just stood underwater for a VERY long time "posing", the rhino which got up as close as he possibly could to the edge of the cage, wow! and of course, the elephants! i got a great picture of one sleeping (and yes, he was sleeping, not dying, he moved his ears and opened his eyes)
ANYWAYS, after that, and realizing that children just really aren't my thing (LOTS of crying kids and running around, etc.) we left, it obviously didn't take us as long b/c the traffic wasn't bad at all around 730pm, but we DID stop to eat in this little town called oceanside, it's near camp pendleton so there were a LOT of military people there, we ate at this really cute italian restaurant, i had pasta with vodka sauce, yum! then off to the house, i was SOO tired from walking all day long, etc.
anyway, today we are getting off to a late start, i'm the only one showered, and it's 10:20, we are thinking about going to long beach and to see the Queen Mary, but we're not sure. i would just really like to go to some cute little shops.
anyway,
peace out
