so here is my weekend update...you probably all know that i went to oklahoma this weekend to visit my chris...awww...i left on thursday around 6, i got the airport on time, i had no trouble on the plane and we were actually early. i got my bag and was waiting for amy (chris' sister) to come pick me up and after a phone call, we finally found each other. she was with her friend nick and we were all starving so we picked up an incredibly unhealthy dinner at mcdonald's, wheeee...then we went back to chris and amy's apt and watched the OC while we waited for chris (he had class til 930). he finally showed up in what seemed like forever...and we had gifts for each other (i know, we're cute). i had gotten him this picture of paris and the eiffel tower, and also his gift from nyc, which was a framed picture of shea stadium. he got me a really pretty sweater from express, like totally something i would have picked out, i was impressed. good job. after that, he told me we were going to karaoke, so i got ready and we met up with his friends tyler and blake at some seedy bar. it was so much fun though...no i didn't sing, but it's always fun to sing along with the drunk people up front, another beer and i might have been one of them, oops. after that we just went home and went to sleep.
on friday, we woke up and went to see flushed away (the cartoon movie about the sewer rats), it was really cute, i am a little more excited about happy feet, but i was still entertained, and we went on a friday afternoon so there weren't too many kids in the audience. after that, we ran a few errands, then came back home, changed and went to eat at this nice little seafood restaurant called pearl's. yum-o! it was near a lake, and had it not been like 35 degrees outside we might have taken a walk, haha. boo okc weather! then we went to this cute little wine bar called bin 73, it was like a hidden treasure. it was soo cute! they had these little cozy booths and it was kind of dark, it's our new favorite place...you know for when i go back next year? haha.
on saturday, i woke up and thought it was sunday and was very glad it wasn't! we decided to go to this winery/vineyard in chandler, oklahoma. woo hoo! actually the drive was really pretty, leaves actually change color in oklahoma, and the winery was also another diamond in the rough. it was pretty empty, seeing as it was november...in oklahoma, but the wine was really cheap, like $3/glass and it was good, so that was a plus. after too many glasses of wine, we went to the grocery store so i could get food, i was cooking dinner! :) then we went home and i whipped up a fabulous meal of beef stroganoff in less than 30 mins b/c i'm THAT good...and rachael ray is my hero. after hearing of the devastating loss of baylor (expected but not expected to be that awful, boo!) and UT (NOT expected and heart-breaking), we got ready and went back to bin 73, haha. the waitstaff knows us now (no, not really, but still).
sunday, we both slept in a little late, oops, and i packed up, we got some lunch at this pretty decent mexican restaurant and then drove around for awhile, then stopped at a mall to kill some time. it was actually a really nice mall...can you see a pattern here? my amazement at the things there are to do in oklahoma city? haha. then it was time for the airport, i quickly checked in my bag and we took pictures while we were waiting, then i waited til the LAST possible minute to go through security, bad idea. my flight was a 6.35, it was 6.15, and the line was NOT moving...apparently it was someone's bright idea to only have one line open. boo. luckily it was the same gate that it was last time, the one literally right across from security, so i literally grabbed my shoes and walked quickly across the lane to get in line...i put my shoes on before i got on the plane, don't worry. haha. the flight was a little late and this time i landed at 7.30 in dallas and my flight to austin was at 7.50. BOO! lucky for me, it was right across from the gate i landed in, thank goodness...and also running late. anyways, it was all good, i got into austin, and got home. i was a little sad to be home, until chris reminded me i would see him next week...DUH!
thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK! wtf! yay and boo all at the same time. yay b/c i love the holidays, and boo b/c chris leaves in 6 weeks. awww....anyways, this morning my mom drove by the office to say hi and tell me that my parents got my christmas present...which apparently i was in the dark about b/c *I* was under the impression i was getting a new ipod...apparnetly mama sims forgot about this kind gesture, and i got a water filter....*blank stare*...i tried to be excited, i mean, this means i don't have to spend so much money on water bottles...but oh the other hand...no more ipod. hmmm...anyways, exciting enough...;)
so...the fire alarm in the next building keeps going off, boo! it is loud enough to hear over here and there's no way to stop it.....ooh, it just stopped. nice.
i forgot i was having lunch with bundy today, but she called a little bit ago and we're going to meet at freebird's...i have to travel a little south, but it says it's only 10 mins away so i should be fine.
ANYWAYS, that's all, i've been typing forever, i'm going to try to post pics now!
