"i dream of gardens in the desert sand"--sting

hey hey, so my interview is in 2 hours...besides that, either i'm watching too much CNBC (thanks dad), but today all i heard was "Saudi Aramco" this and "Saudi Aramco" that...well, that's the company my dad used to work for when we lived overseas and so of course, it grabbed my attention, once the segment came on (FINALLY!), it was basically just about what they do over in Saudi and how it was started, but what got me was that they actually FILMED over there, and ON the compound which is hard to get clearance to do, but they showed some houses and parts of the compound and my heart immediately surged...i know that i lived over there for almost 11 years, but i didnt realize how much a part of me that is, i mean that's my entire childhood...and once i saw the compound, i was reminded of the brown stucco houses that everyone wanted and how there was 2 different sides: Main Camp and the Hills (I lived in the hills) on good ol' Raja Ln. oh the memories, I remember loving my address b/c it was 555, how easy is THAT to remember and if i squint my eyes i can remember my phone number: 878-8263 and remember how spoiled we were, going to school on mercedes buses, no yellow school buses (i know, it's ridiculous), we had reclining seats and air vents. i started to think about the desert behind my house and how so many times we would walk back and forth on it to get from one house to another, or walking through the hills, trying to get home before it was too late (or early!) for us to be out..the late night talks and wishing you wouldn't have to stay there during the summer to deal with the 130 degree heat (hellooo texas), and if you did, LIVING at the pool all day and night.

i know, that's pretty sentimental, and the friends i have from there, when we talk about it, it's liek nobody will ever be able to understand what we had over there or how different our childhoods were from people who grew up here...but it's something that makes me who i am, and i love it, Saudi will always hold a special place in my heart...i think that's why i do my best to keep in contact with people and see what everyone's been doing, it was like a big...i don't know, but a huge part of my life, that i doubt i'll ever let go of...

ok..enough! i have to get ready and re-research the company! eeeek!! interview is today!!!
