so i'm sure all of you are so excited to hear about my new york trip and i wish i could say i took pictures, but i think i took like 4, anyways, kelli took tons, so when i get those i'll post some.
on thursday, i took a half day, got some money and drove off to houston, i got caught up in an AWESOME rainstorm, boo. and barely had time to change, etc when i got to kelli's, then her mom took us to the airport, and we ate at some sports bar thing, and then got on the plane and proceeded to sit on the plane for about 2 hours. we didn't get into NYC til about 2am. we crashed and then shea showed up around 8am on friday and kel and i got ready. we headed down to the garment district b/c kel had an interview with macy's and so shea and i got some breakfast and hung out for a few hours. we went to borders and the notre dame coach, charlie vies? was there signing books, it was our only celebrity sighting...of the entire trip and i don't even think that counts.
then we headed down to the financial district to get tickets to see Ave Q (ok, the tkts booth, total rip-off, they were going to charge us almost $70 for the same seats that i decided would be better to go to the actual theater to get. $46. thanks. i hate you, tkts, not to mention the guy yelled at me like 3 times, boo!) we saw ground zero, went to century 21, then headed up to canal street/chinatown, where i proceeded to spend about $70 in 10 mins, yay! then to soho, i bought a really cute purple shirt that has the mtv symbol on it and it has stars on it. it was sort of an impulse buy (as were half the things i had bought in chinatown) but it's really cute. then we were tired and cranky, so we headed back to the hotel and got ready as quickly as possible and down to times square, ate a quick dinner at some pub next to the theater and went to see Ave Q. it was sooo cute, i highly recommend it to anyone who is out of college recently or i mean just anyone, it was great. "it sucks to be me" is one of my favorite songs haha. after that, we met shea's friend stephanie who was also staying with us and her friend joe at hard rock cafe and had a few drinks. fun.
we had to wake up early on saturday because we had tickets to the SaTC tour! yay! i might have been the most excited, anyways, it was fun and they take you all over new york and show you different sights and you learn more trivia, just what i need. to be MORE of a SaTC junkie. then we got some food and then walked around rockefeller center and down 5th ave, did some shopping. then to times square, i was looking all over for something specific that i had seen the day before and finally i found it, then we were all really tired so we went back to the hotel to rest, get ready for dinner, watch the baylor game, etc. this turned into almost a 2-3 hour fiasco. i'm sad my bears lost, but they scored more points than OU did so i guess that must count for something. then we went down to little italy and found a cute restaurant (i mean, i think they're all cute), we ordered many a bottle of wine and $200+ later we were pretty drunk and obnoxious and sure the restaurant owners and patrons hated us, oh well. we shut the place down. we got home at almost 130 or 2 and slept for a few hours before having to head out to the airport. boo.
our flight was on time and i sat in front of a LOVELY CHILD who kept kicking and playing with the tray table. it. was. great. boo kids. i also sat next to an older couple who were so sweet and gave me mints and lotion, it was like my grandparents or something, the older man on the other side of me, also yelled at the kid behind me, loves. it. he was my hero. kel's mom picked us up and then i took a really long nap, we watched grey's anatomy and she fed me, and then sent me home with food. yay moms! i got home around 830 or so, caught up on my monday night tv from last week, and then pretty much fell asleep. it was raining this morning, but looks like the sky is clearing up. and i didn't eat breakfast, and i'm hungry, at least i have a lunch to look forward to!
so this week feels very busy, i might go see my parents tonight, i need to work out (like no lie), my dad's bday is thursday, chris is coming in this weekend. yay! anyways, busy girl.
