it doesn't matter who gets elected, i'm leaving the country! ;)
lol, Chris told me I should wear a shirt that says that (actually he said I should wear a shirt that says "If McCain wins, I'm leaving the country...")...haha...well it's true... but I'm not leaving b/c of the future president elect. plus I do actually care who wins, I'm on my way home to watch the coverage! and Chris is up (at 2am) to watch it in Saudi, he's excited :)
Short recap of the weekend:
Friday I sort of forgot it was halloween, I dressed up as a football player to work, complete in my baylor line jersey and those weird black things under my eyes. 2 of my other friends did the same (jerseys and black stuff) so we were cuter as a group. After work, I dropped off some tahini at Shawna's and then I met my mom, and the people who rent my house for dinner and then they took Myrria trick or treating around the mall, and I "trick or treated" for clothes. I ended up buying this dress I've been eying for MONTHS, they were sold out everywhere (at NY & Co) and I couldn't even find it online, but I found it at Lakeline and plenty of them.
I also bought 2 shirts and a dress at Express...well I think it's a dress, the sign said "Tops - $29.50" but put some tights under it and it's ready for new years, yay for being short. Then I just went home and watched chick flicks, not even scary movies like I normally would! I sent all of my dvd's to Saudi with Chris when I met him in Tokyo so Chris' mom is letting me borrow a bunch of movies and I'm watching all these movies I never would buy or rent, for example: Two Week's Notice, The Wedding Date and Sweet Home Alabama...to give you some examples. Anyway, it's like Blockbuster without the late fees :)
On Saturday, I celebrated L*bo's birthday, first by eating Indian food at the Clay Pit and then driving out to the Flat Creek Estate Winery off 1431. I highly recommend it. It's really cute, $5 for 6 types of wine to taste, then $5/glass after that. They also have cheese plates, plus you can bring your own picnic and drink their wine if you so choose. It's really pretty out there, who knew? Fun was had by all! Then I just went home and The Shining was quickly replaced by the UT/Tech game, which I'm sorry Longhorns, but was honestly one of the best games I've ever watched, literally down to the last second. Apparently my dad had deemed us "tech" fans. lol, (sorry folks, he's an okie, he goes for anyone against Texas)
Sunday, I took the dads to get their tuxes fitted which took about 2 seconds and then Chris' mom invited us to stay for a late lunch/early dinner and then I just went home.
Yesterday I had wanted to talk about one of my purchases from Friday, most of the time I don't feel like a fashionista, I wear trends if I think they are comfortable. I can accept when things don't look good on me and wait for the phase to pass. I prefer flats/flip flops to heels (even though I wear them downtown and to work), I have invested in about 10+ pairs of jeans and love the weekends so I can throw them on. But on Friday, I purchased a leopard print, mock-turtleneck short sleeve top from Express, I broke down and used my coupon since it seems to never go on sale. And I highly reocmmend it. I am really thinking of going back for more, I felt super cute and it can be dressed up or down. Sorry for the lack of photos! and sorry for being random.
Anyway, things are going ok on the wedding front, 1 month and 2 days left! Chris comes home in 3 weeks (from tomorrow), we'll have a new president soon and I have 2.5 weeks left of work! Hurray!
peace.
