"freedom...you got to give what you take"--george michael
hey hey,
this blog really is going to be boring, i'm just letting you know this right now. fyi.
so, work was fine yesterday, we got cake! yum! everytime we get cake, my boss and i run downstairs like we're part of office space. the very first time someone had a birthday after i started working, my boss practically dragged me, running, with one shoe left behind, just so we wouldn't miss the cake. no one wants to be milton. anyway, it was a turtle ice cream cake or something. i mainly ate the cake, and a little ice cream, no pecans or whipped cream for me. i'm lame. then the entire office proceeded to get into an argument about what should be considered pie or cake and the things that are named 'pie' but are REALLY cake, and vice versa. someone said cheesecake didn't have flour in it, but the girl in our office who can't eat anything b/c she's allergic to wheat or something, swore on her life that it did...i guess she would know, i don't know how you can be allergic to wheat? what doesn't have wheat? fruit? oh well.
after work, my boss and i began a conversation discussing one of our co-workers daughters and how she went to school with a hat that said "it's fun to be one" (b/c her birthday was yesterday) which eventually led to a really random discussion about how you CAN get pregnant while breastfeeding or one month (or even one week) after getting off the pill. after we started talking about random wives' tales of how you can or can't get pregnant certain ways ... don't ask, i left for the grocery store.
on the way home, i got a phone call from the place that has molly (aka the dog from yesterday's blog) to ask if i would be able to meet her sunday and if so, she would pull my application and i would be interviewed "by one of her interviewers" then. i don't know why, but the whole conversation resembled that of a job interview. it's a DOG! not a child! i will treat it like my child, but that's besides the point. i'm not that nervous though. i can usually sell myself pretty well when in interviews if given the chance, so that's what i plan on doing. shawna is coming along for moral support. *heart* anyone who thinks i wouldn't be a good mother to a dog, is seriously disturbed.
at the HEB in cedar park/leander, texas, there are quite the country folks. as i waited in line, the country guy and checker got into a very serious conversation about celebrity gossip. the country guy talked about how last time he was in the store, nick and jessica were divorcing, now they look happy. somehow this turned into renee zellweger and kenny chesney's divorce, which then ended in true guy form.
checker: "it said she complained about how she had to travel around the country so much to see him. i mean, come on woman, you married a famous country star!"
country guy: "exactly! but you think she's complaining about the money she'll be gettin' from him? nope. money sure makes the bang seem a lot less, doesn't it"
their "witty" banter (and lack of hollywood knowledge) went on for another minute or 2, in which i seriously wanted to turn and tell that maybe the couple shouldn't have gotten married within a few months of knowing each other and in case they didn't know, renee zellweger was a "famous movie star" and she probably has way more money than kenny chesney, therefore the money shouldn't even BE an issue. but whatever. boys will be boys.
at home, i warmed up some soup, caught up on laguna, related and set up dvr to record related (again) and made (this is only b/c brandon, the loan guy, was part of this and i'm curious to see if he's even IN the episode. watch it! 9pm on mtv). i also cleaned up the kitchen and my room. today's my dad's birthday (happy birthday dad!) and so i'm cooking dinner (chicken fried steak, potatoes, green beans, biscuits) for the 'rents... get excited.
peace out lovahs.
