i'm sure you are all excited to hear the vegas update and see pictures, i can help you with the update, but haven't gotten the pictures done yet, so chill. anyways, they say what happens in vegas stays in vegas. well, we weren't TOO crazy, so i figure some stories are allowed.
so i left here on thursday after finding out my boss will be out for at least the next 5 1/2 weeks, not counting the 3 months she'll be out while on maternity leave...eh. but i chilled...ok fine. i just need to take this extra responsibility and run with it. i'm sure it will all pay off in the end. the end, meaning the end of march, for my yearly review.
vegas checklist:
dance our asses off: check
get into clubs-V.I.P: check
get free drinks: check
get treated like a whore: check (aka, told to "mingle", "show the men a good time" and "talk to them" by the v.i.p. bouncer)
eat at a buffet: check
see most, if not all, of the cool hotels: check
play bingo!: check
lose some, and win some: check
groped by both members of each gender: check
drink enough so you don't remember what happened: check
hear eminem's 'lose yourself' 5000 times?: CHECK (BOO!)
my mom picked me up and we ate at my fav mediterranean restaurant, then she took me to the airport. i was there pretty early and i patiently waited and was actually very good and didn't buy any books or magazines (so proud!) so i left here at 8 and got to vegas at 9, and met the girls at the good ol' Frontier...um texas theme? (the girls=jenni, melissa and suz). it was like i never left, haha. i changed really quick, then we headed out to the Palms. ahh, good memories there ;). the minute we walked in, we were asked by a group of guys if we were headed to Ghostbar (we were headed to Rain). they said, they were on the guest list and could get us in free, but they needed us to come with them (i guess the girl/guy ratio needed equalizing) it could have quite possibly been a scam, but we went with them and next thing you know, we're walking straight in with no cover charge. of course, we made this up with $10 drinks, but whatever. the Ghostbar is so freakin' awesome, 66th floor and you can see the ENTIRE city of las vegas. apparently my camera's battery had died, so i have no pictures, but everyone else took some. after we had played there for awhile and gotten use out of jenni's birthday to have some guy buy us ALL drinks, we headed over to Rain. fun fun fun! love that place, best. music. played. ever. the dj was GREAT. unfortunately, i got groped very wrongly by some weird guy, which was traumatizing enough, but THEN it gets worse, i get groped by a GIRL who claims "I LOVE THIS GIRL!" and is trying to dance with me...boo. she wasn't even cute either! ;) needless to say, i left Rain feeling very violated. lol. that night was a good night, alcohol wise, not too drunk, but tipsy enough.
friday we woke up late, and started walking around to all the hotels and gambled a lot...well i did, i lost too much money, i guess i could have lost more. after our hotel tours we went back to the hotel, rested, then played bingo. here is where i developed my new found love for ICE cold corona and lime. sooo good, where has this been? after that, we went to the casino and i decided to try my hand at some roulette. i mean, a little red & black couldn't get me into too much trouble? no it couldn't, but it could introduce into my new favorite casino game. no more slots for me, roulette all the way, i LOVE IT! melissa had gone to LA for the day (work related) and so we waited for her to come back. after we chilled, we got ready to go to this club in treasure island, called Tangerine. the cab driver from thurs night had given us V.I.P. passes for a bunch of clubs and that was one. lookin' hot, we headed out. at first, V.I.P just meant: don't pay cover, pay $10 for your drink and get bumped into a lot b/c it was so freakin' crowded. eventually we moved, and this bouncer asked jenni if we wanted to be V.I.P. or something and she was like duh, yes. so he took us to the roped off section where we were told to "MINGLE!" and welcomed with a shot of patron tequila and a drink of choice. i've also never taken a tequila shot ...i know where have i been? but damn that was good stuff. the night was then followed with more drinks, free champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries, couches, roses. soooo FUN! jenni and melissa ended up dancing on some lighted platform (at least they were wearing underwear as the previous [larger] girl was wearing a dress and NO underwear...hey it's vegas) the rest of the night progressed greatly and i'm sure it was pretty fun, not that i remember too much b/w the strawberries and passing out on the bed. but what i DO remember was sat morning? afternoon.
i. felt. gross. we set out around 2pm to find food on saturday and ended up at a buffet, which i unfortunately could not take full part in. boo hangovers. then we walked around to the rest of the hotels for about the next 5 hours. took pictures, yay! found $2 jello shots about the size of 3. we headed back to the hotel around 9pm and then proceeded to pass out/watch chick flicks/eat junk food until we went to sleep. a little too much fun this weekend, but I LOVED it!
sunday we woke up early, so we could check out on time, dropped off our bags, ate some tapas, went to the venetian, then headed back to our hotel, where i proceeded to win $40 on roulette. yay! then to the airport. my flight ended up being late, boo, so by the time my mom picked me up and i got home it was almost 1am, which in vegas time (11pm) meant time to go out, but i was at home, so it was hard to sleep. i woke up, got ready and left for work and now i'm here.
so i had FUN in vegas, loves it! who wants to go next year??! sept? october? let's plan it! totally game. so excited this is a 3 day week, i need some recuperation time.
i talked to my boss who will be out for probably total, the next 4 months...she will prob have her baby within the next 5 weeks, then 3 more months for maternity leave. but her and the baby are fine, she's just laying on the couch, on her side forever. boo. that's the update on that.
