have you had your latin kiss today?

"After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But it's comforting to know the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're very lucky, a plane ride away."--carrie, SaTC

"she was a day tripper, one way ticket, yeah"--the beatles

hey hey
well yesterday was an ok day, during lunch i went to the mall to return all my towels and then to express to exchange my tank tops and i ended up buying 2 new ones, one i'm wearing today and i think the other i will wear tomorrow night when we go out. i also bought a wall calendar finally! to sort out my personal life, it's scenes of new york. i'm excited! after work, i went shopping even more, stopped at DSW, the express at the arboretum, and saw a REALLY cute top but they didn't have my size, and then to the Gap, but people were being really annoying, so i decided to stop shopping for myself and continue on the house shopping event. i went to linen's n' things, bed bath and beyond, target, walmart and Ross...i got nothing, i bought some splenda for my dad...but nothin'. i sort of found the towels i wanted at bb&b, but i didn't want to rush, maybe i would find something at another store, but i didn't, so i may go back there. i also have to return my best buy gift card and return a pillow at kohls, so maybe tonight? i came home, had some ramen, did my laundry, watched me some tv, wondered how crickets are getting into my room and went to bed before midnight. awesome.

so i already have some interesting stories for the morning. first off, i had my outfit planned out last night, with the tank tops i had bought yesterday and this cute black half sweater my mom got me. i had washed one last night, and let it line dry so i had to go get it, and i heard the tv on when i woke up earlier and i thought, wow, my dad's up early. when i came downstairs, it was completely dark with only cleo on the couch, with the remote next to her, i'm not even lying, she wasn't even sleeping, her eyes were open. (this wouldn't be weird with a NORMAL dog when they hear someone walking, but for cleo, the "best watchdog ever", it was) anyways, they were open as if she was watching tv, watching JOYCE MEYERS on tv...and i was the last person who watched tv last night and it wasn't on THAT channel. neither of my parents were awake which could only mean that cleo had jumped on the couch, kicked on the remote and it landed there. she is SOOO smart! ;)

anyways, i got ready to leave, said bye to my mom and she told me i looked so "stylish" today. i have to agree with her. i put a lot of thought into my outfit today. there are 2 friends of mine who i consider very fashion savvy, there are l*bo and kelli. l*bo is more the trendsetter, letting us know what's in or out, cutest shoes, products, etc. kelli is more the abercrombie&fitch trendy girl. and here i thought i knew how to layer, well i DO, but apparently you can add all these different aspects to it, so i lived and learned this weekend. today i'm wearing a lacey white camisole under a grey ribbed tank with different lace, layered just right to reveal the perfect amount of lace, and because its "winter" down here in texas, the black half sweater thing tied in front, and jeans b/c it's friday. let me tell ya, i'm really proud of this outfit, i'm glad everyone could revel in the fact that yes, rena looks cute today. thank you for sharing this moment with me. le perfect sigh. ;)

and lastly, something i have been mulling over for quite awhile. ok, i get made fun of quite a lot when people learn i have this love for 80s music. fine, hate on me all you want. i like it, and there were some great songs back in the day. i want someone who hates 80s music or think it's lame, to tell me why if an artist and/or band needs to recreate themselves, they will REMAKE an 80s song. not to mention, people end up thinking the song is absolutely AMAZING! whaat? hey, btw, that song was made back in the 80s, haters. whatever. here is a list of some i have noticed lately.

"listen to your heart" ~ d.h.t. originally by roxette
"more than words" ~ dont' know who sings it now, but originally by xtreme
"is she really going out with him?" ~ sugar ray, don't know who originally sang it
"heaven" ~ dj sammy, originally by bryan adams
"careless whisper" ~ don't know who did this, but wham! originally
"give a little bit" ~ goo goo dolls, originally by supertramp
"drift away" ~ uncle kracker, originally by dobie gray
"it's my life" ~ no doubt, originally by talk talk
"love song" ~ 311, originally by the cure
"drive" ~ ziggy marley, originally by the cars
"ghost in you" ~ mark mcgrath, originally by psychedelic furs (counting crows also remade this)
"hold me now" ~ wayne wonder, originally by the thompson twins
"i melt with you" ~ jason mraz, originally by modern english

ok well whatever, that was my rant. some of them have a good twist on the songs, true. but i always think it's funny when people hear this song and they're like oh my gosh that is a GREAT song, i'm like yeah it's 20 years old. whatever. (and people say they don't like 80s music ;) )

so the security guy just called me, remember the fiasco about him wanting to charge me way too much money b/c i had to get a "wireless" system? i was like i hate you. anyways, i haven't called him back, today, he, being desperate, said he was going to help me ~ and only charge me $19.95/month, hmmm....so he said he would call me monday with the details...we'll see how "good" of a deal THIS is.

whatever, it's friday! yay! today i'm packing the rest of my crap, tomorrow moving it over to the house, shawna is coming over to keep me company/help me hang stuff hehe, and then at night we're going out. yay for the weekends!

ps. the receptionist downstairs asked me how the house was going..i don't remember telling her i bought one, hmmm, good news travels fast through the gossip chain...and i thought i didn't have the problem with office gossip ;)
