"baby, everything is alright, uptight, out of sight"--stevie wonder
hey hey
yesterday was an okay day..my boss convinced me to go to taco cabana instead of eat my tuna (well that was a personal decision and she didn't have to do that much convincing) so off we went to get our favorite lunch snack: 2 bean & cheese tacos, queso and chips and a drink. all within the $5 range, perfect. so after totally stuffing myself to the brim, i kept working. yesterday was a really good day for me work wise, i was totally on: i finished an event site within like 2 hours (very good) and among other things, i really felt like i got stuff done. right before i left work i got a request for a secure website, which they wanted...ASAP, like 5 minutes before hand? yeah, this isn't really possible. after discussing it with the IT guy, what they wanted was not feasible and so then i just left...there is this thing my boss and i tend to do and that's...don't ask us to have a site ready within 5 mins or even an hour, we just don't work like that. i think i handled it well.
on the way home, i stopped quickly by the shelter, there aren't really any new dogs, and madison's name tag is still there, but she wasn't, but she also didn't have the red Adopted sign on her cage...i am confused, therefore returning today. i saw these guys bring a bunch of little dogs to the shelter and i'm hoping they were giving them up, we'll see. i talked to shawna on most of my ride home, explaining what happened and updating her on the dogs she likes there and etc. it's really exciting to be dog shopping with someone else, at least you know you're not the only one being picky. i think it's funny that we totally want the opposite kinds of dogs though, she wants something that's like 50lbs, and i want something i can put in my purse...awesome.
so i got home and started dinner, chicken fried steak, potatoes (my mom made), green beans, biscuits, cream gravy. it was a winner, and i know my dad was happy. we watched most of the astros game, and of course they brought over the whole family (the dogs included). it was good to have them there and my mom cleaned up for me. yay. the rest of the night was chill, carosa ended up coming over and that was great to see her and show her the house with actual furniture in it. she also menitoned her little brother could mow my lawn...awesome, i'm THAT neighbor right now who's let these nasty ass weeds grow a little high.
so this morning, that's right, this morning i was awakened by the sound of what most of us know as a fire alarm...that's right, my fire alarm went off at 3:48am. well of course this makes me feel as if i am in boot camp, ("SIR! YES SIR! i'm UP and READY!" crap.) it was ridiculous. i was up, running to my bedroom door, about to throw it open when i realize i can't see shit, so i run back to the bed, grab my glasses, BACK to the door, throwing it open half expecting to see my mexican religious candle has set fire to my entire kitchen and more...but..instead i just see dark, and hear a horrible sound above my head...that's right because it was the fire alarm outside MY room going off, no others. eventually i grabbed the ladder, unplugged the damn thing and replugged it in, and it shut up. but i turned on every light, inspected every room, smelt around..no sign of flames, smoke or anything that resembled heat. so at 4:05am, i was thinking: what.the.fuck? as no one is online at that time and i have been lowered to checking to see how far hurricane wilma has gotten and wondering why the meterologists have it hitting the yucatan peninsula and then pinballing to the east to hit florida. hmmm...i think i finally got back to bed at 4:30, but i wasn't very settled just b/c who knows, maybe i missed a part of my house that was still burning? whatever.
i didn't want to wake up this morning and i didn't eat breakfast because i wanted 15 mins of extra sleep. i think it's worth it. good Lord i am CRAVING saturday so that i can sleep in.
peace out lovahs.
