well i think yesterday was one of the worst days of my work career. everyone has some sort of inkling about this ecard that i'm doing or in charge of (if you don't, well i'm in charge of this ecard that is about to go out to thousands of clients around the world)...in charge of, does not mean design (most people don't understand that)...in charge of, means, liase with the design company, handle people on my side and then eventually edit the html with many languages. does this sound like a big job? well it IS and it WAS and yesterday was almost my breaking point. things were just going wrong left and right and we're already late as it is and yes at one point i closed my door to my office and just cried (much buildup of an already stressful work week). i was calmed by not only my london boss (who did not hear me cry), but my good ol' work friend who kept trying to make me laugh. thank the good Lord for helpful people. then, because our servers are based in houston and htown had a massive storm yesterday, our servers were also down for at least an hour...needless to say, i had gotten the first batch of cards out by 6pm yesterday. today i am just doing the rest of them all day...we'll see how this goes. i really want to meet shawna for happy hour, so i'm bankin' on that.
after work i met my mom at trulucks, but apparently it's ALWAYS crowded, even on a weds night so we would have to wait 45 mins, we nixed that idea and went to cheddars, where i had a wonderful glass of wine and stuffed shrimp. yum! then we went shopping. i was trying to find my NYE dress, but to no avail. i'm being really picky, not sure if it's my body or the dress, but i'll find something. i finally go home around 10.30 and pretty much went straight to sleep. i woke up this morning with a horrible sinus headache and with constant sneezing. boo...i do not need to start my day like that, because i have a full work day ahead of me!! and want to get it all done. (well want is not the correct word, need is)
so i made some breakfast, took some meds and am now at work, ready to start my day,...let me tell you lovahs, after next week, i never want to hear the word "ecard" again.
ps. shawna where do you want to go? i could go for a pretty strong margarita
