"give me real, don't give me fake"--coldplay

hey hey,
well as i sit here, enjoying the bangles on my ipod, i think to myself...when in the world did i ever acquire such a taste for 80s, bad 90s and every other one-hit wonder on the planet? i mean, absolutely LOVE THEM. i'd almost go so far to say i could name the song title and artist of some random 80s song, but then i bet someone would test me, and i would get it wrong. not to say that i don't love plenty of other music! my tastes go from garth brooks to classical to dave matthews to the one hits, to motown, ...do i need to go on? i love music! plus i have been hearing a little bit of the old rock (if i can call it that) and would really like to go dabble in some led zepplin and rolling stones....ok, don't ask what possessed me to write about my musical taste, but i did. i also want to read more books, since i decided to join netflix, i thought shouldn't i read more to kind of negate the mindless fun movies provide? so i'm going to make a list of some and go to half-price books one day and start a collection, let me know if there are any i should read...right now i have like 5 on my list, so maybe i won't start this for a few months, but let me know.

last night i went to my parents house for dinner, b/c corina made tortilla soup. best. soup. ever. this girl is awesome! after that, we watched all 3 hours of the golden globes. so glad steve carell and sandra oh won their categories, also walk the line made me proud and i'm sure when i see brokeback mountain, it will as well. (i'm sorry jack bauer didn't win, brad), and was a little amused when mary louise parker swept the best actress category, leaving all the housewives to wish they could have had the same fame teri hatcher had last year, but alas, no. although i'm so glad felicity huffman won for her movie role, haven't seen it (as usual) but i really like her. i also managed to catch the last 2 mins of the bachelor:paris, allowing me to covet susan and the blonde 23 year old from canada as my favorites so far.

did anyone else find it odd that mariah carey made an appearance at the golden globes? i mean, it's movies and tv, not music? whatever.

i came home, talked to kel, set my dvr for the TWO HOUR american idol premiere tonight (hi, my most favorite season of tv starts THIS week!) and went straight to sleep. i had to wake up early (like 5 mins) because i had a 9am meeting, which when i arrived was like a minute late, (i needed gas, to mail my loan check and traffic is WONDERFULY) but then 15 mins later got a phone call to move it to thurs, which is good, because my head is spinning at the moment.

so i called my [half] sister to wish her a happy "25th" birthday, when she told me, no she didn't really like who she was at 25, and so she would prefer 29th, thankyouverymuch (she's like 37?), and that way she hasn't made it over 30. also, for a 37 year old who can honestly PASS for 29, i don't know why she worries. i think it'll all be over when she hits 40 though, oooh bam!

in other news, myspace has taken over my soul, and although it has almost been a year since i've been a member, now that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon, it's so much more fun. yay myspace! boo facebook!

here is a cute pic of me and jenni during our VIP stint in vegas - heart!

peace out playas
