so, i don't really drink coffee anymore, i used to do the social thing at starbucks and common grounds, but the whole "i need coffee" habit people usually begin in college, i never acquired. i think of this as lucky. more recently, i stopped coffee altogether and drink only green tea, iced tea or chai. last week, i was abnormally tired, and figured the only thing that would wake me up was drinking my office's awesome coffee (single pod coffee maker). one time, turned to 2, which turned to 3. already, this week, on monday i needed a little pick me up...this seemed fine, except for this morning, when i can barely keep my eyes open. i told colleen, uh oh. it's not like i'm drinking whiskey at 9.30am, but i DONT DRINK COFFEE, so it's similar. so as i feel myself waking up while drinking my french vanilla coffee with 2 creams and far too much sugar, i write this.
i went to lunch with one of my work friends from houston who is in town for work for the next 2 weeks, we went to chuy's and it was a lot of fun! yay! last night we had our monthly work event, this month, a texas hold 'em tourney was organized. it was great! we had beginner and intermediate tables (i was a beginner) and we got free drinks and played with fake money! the winner of the beginner table? yours truly! that's right! i won! and i won a $40 best buy gift card! i was sooo excited!! so i think i will be investing in those new speakers for my ipod :) yay! i stopped at target on the way home for no apparent reason, whatever. then went home, american idol, computer and then phone for awhile, with several people.
i am now 100% committed to mardi gras, the real thing AND my birthday party theme. i'm going this weekend to go buy some fun party things! i was looking online last night and i got some really cute ideas that may even allow y'all to take home party favors, lol. we'll see. l*bo says she has a really great idea, but i don't know what is brewing inside her little head, i'm sure it will be great.
andy got a puppy, i'm so jealous! :( i really, really wish i had enough time for that, b/c i want a dog so bad. next time i buy a house, 5-20 mins work commute, that's what it has to be. lol. ("next time...?" whatever.)
tonight, we are having our weekly happy hour at paradise (again)..doesn't that just sound fun to say? we're going to paradise for happy hour? yes, i think so. it's all day you-call-it martinis, but i think i'm going to drink margs until 7 and if we are still there, i'll enjoy the martinis.
