holla. i keep thinking the weekend should be over and it's not and for that? i am incredibly grateful!
thursday night, my mom brought me mexican food from casa g's and made me feel really piggy, as i watched SaTC and ate it. then i packed and came to my parents. i was trying to think of ways to conserve gas and the best way was to just stay with them this weekend instead of driving back and forth 3 or 4x this weekend. it's worked out quite well. i get food, cable, a pool, internet, get to see my doglets...it's really all i need to survive, plus i'm closer to my peeps in so.au. (south austin, i just made it up right this second...similar to so-co) whatevs.
on friday, i slept in, then met my mom for lunch at red robin, then we went to san marcos to shop at the outlets, i didn't do much damage until the Aldo store, then i got 2 pairs of shoes, because aldo is my new guilty pleasure. i also saw a KXA alum, my fav, claire molina!! i really appreciated my mom's conversation
claire: "well, we are trying to hurry back so we can get to church"
my mom: "i KNOW! we're trying to hurry so she [me] can get to 6th street!" (thanks mom, i'm officially a heathen)
my mom actually got me back on time, and i met shawna at her apt, then we went downtown, we were supposed to meet steph and sharla at iron cactus but apparently their "happy" hour was not "happy" today, and we were looking for cheap drinks and appetizers, enter: paradise. ol' faithful. we were there for awhile and it was fun, discussing too personal issues...thanks sharla! we kept ordering appetizers, etc. then we went to maggie mae's to see paperwork's cd release show! it was so good and fun! AND i got a really cute t-shirt, as much as i like the dinosaur one, (which i may invest in soon), i got the vintage origami tee. lol. i love it. sharla and i apparently got too excited at happy hour and the concert and shawna had to drove us back to the apt. i was going to drive us downtown but we decided to stay on 4th, so we could just walk...except that i said when we walked back home i would drive sharla to her car...ooops. we pre-drank and played with lucy lu and reilly roo and then walked downtown.
apparently everyone went home for easter because every place was EMPTY. we started at lavaca, then went to lucky lounge, ...then to Six, which apparently hip and happening..sure it was hip and happening and i got the bartender to give us 3 patron shots for $12 because he loved me. (far cry from $21, LAVACA!) then we hung out there for awhile on the rooftop which was nice, we yelled at the valet boys running to the cars, THAT was fun. wooo hoo. after that, we decided we would go back to ol' faithful (i'm into that phrase today): lavaca. and although still empty, we made a friend...a married girl...great. anyways, she like totally loves us and wants us to hang out, maybe do brunch? lol. what? ok....so we went to whataburger and then walked to shawna's, i wasn't ready to take sharla to her car and took a powernap, then was ready, took sharla to her car and then came to the 'rents.
i slept in, i have no hangover, i laid out by the pool, i did my taxes, i washed my car, i showered, i am SO ON today! our bbq is at 5.30, holla! then i think i'm going to go with sharla to midnight rodeo, i've never been, but it's supposed to be fun :), so i'm going to tag along. i might go to target in a minute...before my mom gets home and puts me to work! ;)
