winter wonderland...
so...
welcome to "ice storm '07" as jim spencer has called it. as of today, i have been inside for three days straight...and let me tell you, it's really great to be off work although i'm technically working from home...but what is NOT great is that i have been home, all by myself and have seen NO ONE in 3 days! i love my alone time but this is me starting to get cabin fever! thank goodness for tv, and phone calls but geez, this is a little out of hand. anyways, something exciting is that it SNOWED! yes, it snowed, how exciting, i even went out and took pictures, i felt like a fool, but i put on my snow boots and took pictures, not a lot, but just enough so i'd remember that one weekend (LOOOONG WEEKEND) that i stayed at home and did nothing for 3 days. do you know there's nothing on tv during the day? seriously. i can't watch kvue ANYMORE!
so this past weekend, (when i was out in the real world), i went to san antonio on friday after work with my mom, i went to bed really early because i was having a really bad allergy attack, boo. i woke up to massive thunderstorms and a bad headache, so i took an allergy pill and went back to sleep. it was no apparent i was not going to be able to go to houston, so my mom and i went to eat lunch with my aunt and my favorite mexican restaurant, then ran some errands, fun. when we FINALLY got back to austin, i went over to tatiana's to go with her to pick up ramzi and shaft from the airport. we waited for them and they finally got back! awww, it was good to see them. then i drove home very late...well the stupid weather people scared the crap out of me so i didn't leave the house at all on sunday...mistake #1, i could have gone shopping or something.
on monday it was very obvious i wasn't going to work, luckily my boss had told me to take files home to work on just in case, so i did all my search reports yesterday. fun. then i got to watch the golden globes...after so many celebrities and watching my cast of grey's anatomy keep getting shafted (but not before winning best drama tv series YAY!) i started to get a headache and not feeling well, luckily it turned out i didn't have to go to work today! anyways, the golden globes made me realize how behind on movies i am, so i would like to see babel, the queen, the departed...the last king of scotland? i didn't even know that movie existed! i was really glad dreamgirls won a lot of stuff (mostly b/c it was the one of the only movies i'd seen) and that beyonce didn't, i didn't feel like she was the main felmale character, and i felt like jennifer hudson deserved her win. also, borat? yes, minus his mustache and with a cute accent he comes off as sort of attractive, but it was all ruined because of his speech, not to mention, i would have preferred aaron eckhart, johnny depp and esp will ferrell to win that award. please. it wasnt a golden globe performance! i also wanted happy feet to win best animated film but ok, they won song, which i don't even remember! i really like "listen" from dreamgirls, but oh well. haha. anyways...fun.
anyways, at 6am today i woke up to sleeting, at 7am i looked outside and couldn't tell it was icy, then i turned on the tv and realized i would be staying home. again. i woke up at 9 finally to do some work, back to sleep, up at 12 to a phone call from chris' mom asking me to sweetly get on the computer to talk to chris because he was all out of text message time. and i've been up ever since. i'm very excited about tonight because american idol comes on and it will own my life for the next 5 months!

here's to ice day #3 tomorrow...or at least a half day. i hope you are all staying dry and warm!
