"closing time, open all the doors and let you out into the world"--semisonic
so i have been wanting to update for awhile but last week i was so busy and crazy and all the work i didn't get done has now piled up to today and i'm dying. so i've locked myself in my office to get it done! in any case, i need to relieve some stress so i thought i would write some about what's been going on :)
last week was chris' mom's bday so on tuesday i went out with his family to dinner at the melting pot, it was delicious! i ate way too much food, but it's ok, b/c the next day was ash wednesday and thus began lent, which means i gave up fast food and soda again slash let's trim down for the wedding. our weight contest was over on thursday and i only ended up losing 4lbs which is fine, but apparently between now and then,i have lost another 4. we'll call it the "i'm stressing out about planning a wedding and have no desire to eat"...i AM eating, just not a lot, so i guess whatever works. boo.
last wednesday i also had a minor freak out about the catholic classes, chris and i have to take. they are only offered certain times during the year (i.e. once a month) and then the "natural family planning" classes every OTHER month. well when your fiance is only going to be in the country for 10 days in the summer this may prove difficult...EVEN if the deacon had told you at your first meeting it was possible for him to take it overseas with another priest...and now it's like we have to take them all together apparently? and i thought the issues with getting my sacrament certificates were a big deal (btw, i WAS given first communion in a catholic church, so no issues there), which it is not. just call the churches and they send you the certificate. i just don't understand why they make it so difficult for catholics to get married in their churches. WE ARE CATHOLIC! HELP US! WE ARE YOUR KIND! God loves us all, what is the deal? The Presbyterian church across the street from the Omni just wants one person to be a Christian and give them the name of your officiant. Done and done. Don't think also I haven't looked into getting married there or having the ceremony at the Omni. I would not be ME if I did not have 2 back up plans.
also last weekend after my bridezilla breakdown, my dad had his cathetor (sp?) procedure done. something happened when they were taking it out i guess and they hit an artery (he coughed at literally the wrong time) and they had to stop his bleeding and put him in ICU for a night. he is fine now though, but they moved him to another room the next day and so he was in the hospital for 2 nights. :( boo. but he's at home now resting and taking the little walks he's supposed to, etc. it sounded more serious than it was though so i guess that's good? needless to say, the week could not end fast enough.
on friday my mom and i went to meet the photographer for the wedding. i had only been referred to her by my boss and have been blog stalking her since mid-2006 and knew i wanted her to do my photos back then. so i contacted her and we finaly met and i LOVE HER and her assistant! she is so awesome and although a bit pricey, the pictures are really important to us and so worth it! so i have to just sign the contract and put down the deposit and yay!
i went to try on dresses again on saturday. i went last saturday to alfred angelo with my mom and got a better idea of what i wanted, but this time i went to belle saison with my mom, chris' mom and sister, amy and the experience was totally different. i fell in love with 2 dresses (both out of budget...of course)and am now on the look out for a similar one that is just a bit cheaper. i know it is possibly because i already found one, haha :)let me know if you are interested (i am not posting any pictures on here) and i'll send you pics. anyway, i didn't do much after that, just went home and hung out. my parents watched the kingdom and my mom freaked out of course, about saudi. of COURSE everyone there owns a bazooka and a gun. stupid hollywood. that movie frustrates me to no end, but whatever.
on sunday, i cleaned up my room some and then went with my mom to church and then amy and i went to town lake to run. it was only half a disaster because we went the wrong way and by wrong way i mean, the one that means by the end of your run you're only going uphill, so next time, we'll reverse it. boo. then just went home and took a nap and then met carosa for coffee at mozarts. it was really good to see her and catch up. i haven't seen her for awhile and she is doing well. keep a look out for the evite for gary and mine's bday party! we'll be headed to the marq that night so come join us!:)
anyway, chris is doing well :) i of course miss him a lot. he is going on his first project next week to tunisia so that's exciting. (it's in north africa) and he is a complete bachelor, he can't cook or anything so he is basically wasting away eating cup o' soup and gyros lol. haha. silly boys. i see him in less than 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway that's all, hope you guys have a good week!
peace out.
