"and i'd do anything for you"--gloria estefan
so i had a really productive end of week and good weekend!
so before the end of june, we have FINALLY crossed invitations off our list!! yay! (as in choosing, not ordering, i still have to come up with the wording for them, etc, but thank goodness we have invitations to WRITE ON! haha). i will describe as best i can, but if you're really interested, you'll just have to wait til you get the real thing! i think they are a light shimmery gold (the company claims it is 'ecru'), whatever it is, it isn't shiny. it is soft, and it has these swirls embossed on the front. the inside will have mocha writing. i am so excited! these were ones i had looked at about a month ago but wasn't sure, i sent a pic off to chris, he seemed to like them, but i thought maybe i'd find something else...kind of like shopping for the dress. well when i narrowed down my options to this invitation AGAIN, i knew it HAD to be the one. so yay! success!
i didn't really do anything on friday, i went to old navy and bought some work-out shorts, b/c all their shorts are 50% off, literally ALL. and i am on the search for a cute top to wear in our engagement pics, but can't seem to find antyhing i love, also new jeans. guess who's going shopping this week/weekend. on saturday my mom and i drove to houston and went straight to harwin. i immediately found jewelry for the bridesmaids, i knew exactly what i wanted and when i saw it, i knew i loved them. (i won't say what it is b/c some of them read this), but i ALSO found earrings for ME! (a little harder, but they are perfect) they're long with some crystals and simple and elegant. i'm debating a necklace, but i might decide when the dress actually comes in (should be august). i also bought a purse.
anyway after our shopping successes, fargie came to pick me up and we went to lunch and to see his new loft. it's pretty nice, but obvs boy decorated. lol. he dropped me back at my mom's car and i went over to shea's. we had quite the adventure. we got lost on the way to the place she had made us reservations (aww) at called the grove - i don't recommend it. the food was overpriced and not super amazing, plus we were just talking, enjoying the dog show outside and drinking wine and the manager came up to us and asked if we minded finishing our drinks at the bar b/c they were short on tables. first of all, who does that? i have NEVER been asked to leave a restaurant, i thought that was extremely rude. when you are waiting for a table, it's not management's fault, it's that people are taking so long to eat. and secondly, who would we complain to? he was the manager. jerk. anyway we ended up paying and leaving and then drove around for awhile, mainly b/c we couldn't find the highway entrance and also b/c it was only 8.30 and we didn't know what to do. i ended up saying i felt like dessert so we went to this little italian restaurant that had a 30 min wait, so we went to carrabba's for wine and death by chocolate. we either could wait 10 minutes or sit at the grill aka the kitchen. basically we watched them cook food all night. in any case, it was fun anyway.
sunday we woke up, had lunch and ran some errands, and then my mom and i headed back to austin. i ended up going to dinner with sharla at polvo's, came home, did some laundry and went to sleep really early. there was a really big thunderstorm in lakeway last night and i slept like a baby, it was awesome.
anyway good weekend! this weekend, i have lots of dinners planned and then obvs 4th of july - for which i have no plans! i have a lot of stuff to do because CHRIS COMES BACK NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omgomgomgomg! :)
peace.
