"we all talk a different language"--mike and the mechanics
First off, this weekend was really fun! Friday, my cousin Rose came into town and we had dinner with my mom and then went shopping - I needed a white shirt and she needed a black shirt for Saturday night (my bachelorette), luckily we were successful. On Saturday, I woke up early and started getting ready for my bridal shower. Chris' mom was having it at her house which was really nice of her. When I got there, there were all these cute tables with pink and black decorations and cute little favors, she did an amazing job! We played some little games, ate great food (thanks mom and Diane!) and then I opened presents! Chris' mom also sent out recipe cards with the invitations so everyone who came either brought or sent their recipes. I think she was making sure her son gets fed when we get married, haha. Anyway it was really neat and a sweet touch. I'm excited to make some of those things! After that, Rose and I stayed with Amy to clean up some and help her pack and then we headed downtown to meet the rest of the bridesmaids for the bachelorette party.
They (Lbo, Shea and Kelli) had the room decorated so cute, we had a suite at the Doubletree so the sitting area was totally decorated with bachelorette stuff, after just hanging out for awhile, we got ready, and then played some risque games, including a "jeopardy" game which Lbo had asked Chris questions for and I had to guess his answers, they were either fun, sweet or risque questions haha. That was really sweet and then I opened all the lingerie gifts - ooh la la! Then Lbo decorated me and we headed out for dinner at Moonshine! Yum!
Moonshine was amazing as it usually is, then Bundy dropped us off downtown and we went on our way. We went to Friends for the ever popular...shot, haha, then went to Barcelona because I saw the bouncers who are friends from Saudi, they helped our night get off on the right foot, we ran into Carosa's friend Lisa while we were there and then we headed to the Marq. The music was great, and it was really fun. I had a great night with all of the girls!! Also, my cousin has managed to find the best hangover cure ever and although I downed a billion shots (or so it felt like) I managed to wake up feeling perfect, just a little tired. I have since then requested a bottle be in our hotel room on the weddng night. (It's like some weird mango pomegranate juice, so tasty AND helfpul!)
Sunday, we went to lunch and then I went back home to start working on wedding things but instead helped Amy move into her apartment. I gave her my futon so my mom and I moved that over there and hung out for awhile, then just came home.
Anyway, today I just found out that Chris made "Silver" on his Qatar Airways frequent flyer card, he's very proud of being "Silver" status on 3 different airlines now, as this means early boarding time, extra luggage allowances and sitting in lounges lol, and *I'M* happy because I get to be included haha. That being said, we have been toying with our honeymoon locations and today we are like 99.9% sure we are going to the Maldives! I.am.so.freaking.excited. Bungalows, beaches - everything we wanted in a honeymoon location!
We will probably end up there in early March, I'm so excited to start looking at things to do! yay! Now if only I could get my last minute wedding things in order!! :)
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and staying dry. I am not going to NOLA anymore this weekend due to my dad's birthday, no ticket and impending items to do, so if you're doing anything fun, let me know!
peace
