"tonight will be the night that i will fall for you, over again"--secondhand serenade
so this weekend has been unnecessarily stressful, and i don't like it. nor do i usually go off on rants about things that happen to me and pull the dramatic card, but i just may. a lot of things happened though..
so on friday, my boss asked me to go to lunch and since i knew a decision had to be made about my job by the end of the week, i figured that's why we were going. we went to 1886? 1889? i don't know, at the driskill. the second we sat down my boss was like "i'm sure you know what this is about" and basically got the job stuff out of the way within the first 5 minutes. basically they can't do the transfer, which is what i had thought and a few weeks ago when i mentioned my job and stuff, what i really wanted to say was that i didn't think it was going to work out and i had already thought it through in my head and i had some reasons why it might not for me personally. mainly working from home in a country where all i know is my husband, doesn't really allow me to meet people, which in a foreign country (or any really) is pretty necessary, i am excited for a new change of job. i am also excited about having the whole month of december off to spend on wedding things, see friends, pack, get situated and spend time with my new hubby. it will be kind of weird since i haven't had that long of a break since i was in college, but i'm looking forward to it! also, this gives me a chance when in saudi to unpack and get situated in my new life.
so after that, i was only at work for about an hour, then met my mom, chris' mom and my cousin rosie at the omni for our tasting. omg, the food is AMAZING. absolutely amazing, except i had already eaten my weight in driskill food so i wasn't that hungry. i hope you guys are ready :). we also went through a lot of how the reception would go and what i expected, etc, etc. the girl we are working with is awesome and i know we are in good hands. by the time that was all over, it was 5, so i brought them all up to see my new office and then left. i was kind of a in a bad mood all throughout this and i guess i have pent up stress inside, so i had a moment of minor breakdown outside of hobby lobby. and then later at home, i had a big one, which luckily chris was able to call me and calm me down. it's just a lot of stuff at once, not one pinpointable reason, but i guess as a bride i'm allowed a breakdown...or 3?
on saturday, i woke up early to get my maps printed (they came out really well, there was a bit of a snafu on timing but i had to let it go), i got a jamba juice, bought stamps and then went home to set up the invitation assembly line. on the way to do all this, i got a text from chris that said "bombs in delhi. i'm fine. love you." WHAAAAAAAAAAAT? chris is in new delhi visiting his friend and apparently some bombs went off in some central markets there, i was VERY thankful he told me first, because had i read about it first, i would have FREAKED. OUT. (thanks ike, for keeping the news stations focused on you). in any case i was a bit too distracted to have any "what if" moments, or we would have been on breakdown #4 or something. he's ok, thank goodness, that's all that matters, and he's on his way back to saudi right now and i'm very glad. anyway invitations are now all stuffed and ready to go, minus stamps, luckily we'll get those this week and i'll be stamping invitations this weekend, and then be on the lookout in the next few weeks :). all of our favor boxes are put together too, thank goodness.
speaking of ike, all of my houston friends seem to be ok, some damage to things and no electricity but overall everyone is safe, and that's all that matters. i hope the same for all of you guys. (granted, none of my drama is anywhere close to my house being destroyed or being without power and i realize that, but i am still venting)
anyway the rest of the weekend i have been shopping: just a few things, jewelry, a skirt, shirt, shoes, and an eskimo vest lol. ok maybe more than a few things..anyway half of my back is a huge knot right now so i am getting a massage tomorrow night as i feel is well deserved.
also, our engagement pics are finally on our photog's blog! click on the link to the right (sms photography!)
hope you all had a good weekend. i want to go see that "burn after reading" movie, anyone down for that this weekend? anyway, peace!
