well the most important thing first! we had a MONSTER storm here last night, which i'm pretty sure San Antonio & Houston are getting the end of today. It was really loud and windy and i was pretty sure that's what it must have felt like to be in a hurricane. enough about what i felt...the big news is that the Oasis burned down!! in fact, it is still burning as we speak!! the rumor is it must have gotten hit by lightning, but it is true...the one spot where us austinites/lake rats could take our visitors to watch the most beautiful sunsets and eat mediocre, highly priced food, watch salsa dancing is gone :(...my mom is hoping they rebuilt it, lucky her, she was just there on sunday! anyway, i hope they had insurance, but that makes me so sad!!
last night, i met allison at china pacific for dinner, she's on her way to new york right now or maybe already there, i'm so jealous!! now that i'm back home, i get cravings for new york life, not to live there, although, i might be able to one day, but just to experience it again, eat the pizza, shop in chinatown, buy faux purses, etc. anyway, bundy and i are maybe thinking about going next summer...after that, i came home, and changed, then went on a dress mission! this thing is on saturday, and it's true, i'm sure i have a dress to wear, but EVERY summer i always buy a new dress for the weddings i go to, and i use it for each one...anyway, nordstrom's was a let down, apparently their website is a lot cooler than the actual store. i went to express, perhaps they would have a dress cheaper than $98, but no...i had to stop myself from buying a pair of crop pants i had my eye on that are now 50% off, but i was like NO! i didn't come to buy pants! so i went to dillards and tried on like 12 dresses, to no avail, the juniors dept is just too clingy and the dresses accentuate the wrong areas, so let down, i went back to my car...in the back of my head i heard my mom say "you could try Ross" (before i had left), and i was like, FINE! so i went....2 dresses later, i have acquired one for $12.99!! now THAT'S what i'm talking about!! i thought i could get shoes too , but they weren't as helpful. i stopped by kohl's maybe to find jewelry, but i was like, i can't get jewelry until i get the shoes, it's just a plain, black, strapless dress, which i plan to dress up with hot shoes and jewelry...not sure if i want to gold/silver/black yet, but i'm thinking i'm going to do some pearls (wow, i don't EVER do pearls) and some black shoes...
anyways, i came home, very tired, went upstiars, talked to boyfriend, and went to sleep...then the storm happenend...the trees around our house were rubbing against the roof and my windows and i woke up around 320 to the sight of lightning and i was like, "whaaat? it wasn't supposed to rain tonight?"(it prob. was but i was not paying attention) anyways, needless to say it took me almost an hour to get back to sleep (partially b/c i went to check on my doglets (caesar gets really scared) and then my mom woke up and made me show her my dress, i'm like its 330 in the morning! whatever. my alarm went off and i was like nooo, i lost a whole hour!! boo! i am sooo tired today, then i was almost late to work, but my boss has been showing up really late so it wasn't a big deal since she wasn't here. my co-worker told me about the Oasis, i called my mom and she was sad. boo!
shawna, thank you for helping me with my blog..i think i'm just going to change it back...much easier..unless a cooler template comes along...see you at our dinner date :)
