"don't you remember, we built this city on rock 'n roll"--jefferson starship
so i know i haven't written in so long, but i thought i would recap quickly the last week which was coincidentally thanksgiving, both a great and not so great week.
good things: i saw chris :), i went to a few new bars/clubs i'd never been to: the marq (great music) and pangaea (don't go unless you have some baller friends who can afford the table service), spent some great time with my family: my sister and her fam who i hadn't seen in almost 3 years, my aunt who i haven't seen in like 4 or 5? and my brother's family. i ate 2 thanksgiving dinners with my family and then chris' fam. despite so much going on, chris and i got some really great QT during the break and just keep realizing more and more how amazing he is and how sweet he is to me :)
bad thing: friday, my dad may or may not have had a mild heart attack which took him to the ER which landed him in ICU with pneumonia and now congestive heart failure. the 4 days he was in the hospital were awful, mostly for him, but for my mom and i as well. it was so hard to see him the way he was, hooked up to everything. but he threw a lot of fits once he got out of ICU and is now recovering at home, gaining more and more strength as he gets over his pneumonia and then later on to have a catheter done to figure out what is going on with his heart. anyway if you can just keep him and my familia in your thoughts/prayers i would really appreciate it. it's just a lot better and less scary to know he is at home and not in the hospital. i really hate hospitals and have been in way too many this year.
i realized i missed several birthdays over the break and just wanted to shout out to: cousin rose, ginger, chris' dad (all on the 24th), and colleen :)
happy birthday people!
anyway, now that my dad seems to be doing better and i'm not taking the spare laptop from work home to keep working (boo!), i'm ready to enjoy my weekend and get my house cleaned up (such a wreck!). this weekend i'm going to see the nutcracker with my mom and heather (the little girl who's living in my parents house with her grandma), going out for colleen's bday, sleeping and cleaning. i.can't.wait.
hope you all had a great thanksgiving, a great week and have a better weekend.
