"so many days you passed me by"--the supremes
so since i feel like all i do is vent baout my wedding, which actually isn't that stressful. it's really the church that is my issue. talkign to other brides, there has to be at least SOME drama, and i suppose the church is it. everything else has been easy: got the DJ i wanted, photog i wanted, reception site i wanted and everything has been great. really when it comes down to it (shawna you are right and i have been saying this to chris all week), i don't really care if i marry him in the parking lot outside, i just want to marry him. it just so happens this church is really pretty! ;)
in any case, 2007 was what i liked to call the year of engagements, i couldn't really go a week without looking at my facebook newsfeed without seeing some sort of relationship status change from someone. since 2007 was the year of engagements, 2008 seems to be the year of weddings! so instead of venting about my OWN wedding, i'll turn the attention to others who are also blessed with finding the love of their life and also making this commitment this year.
april 25 - LE (one of my roommates from new york)
may - steph are you getting married in may?
july ?? - chris berg (i used to babysit him in saudi lol)
october 4 - seif (one of chris' good friends, he is getting married in TOKYO! i am so so excited that i get to go to tokyo, i've never been!!)
december 6 - yours truly (oh i was supposed to take the attention off of me ;))
also, let's point out right now that chris' weekends are thursday and fridays, as opposed to our usual saturday and sunday. that's not that weird to me as it took me a lot of getting used to when i moved back here several years ago not to think wednesday was like friday, etc. so anyway, it is his weekend now and he is off to dubai to meet up with some friends.
i am so excited (well a little jealous), but for a mere $100 round trip you too can fly to this lovely jewel of the gulf (from saudi of course). it's absolutely amazing, where else can you lay on the beach and the very same day go skiing? it's like an adult playground. anyway i am be excited to be able to take weekend trips there soon! the last time i went there i was probably like 14, so yay!
also american idol came on last night! thank goodness for hollywood week! i already have a few favorites, mostly the guys. i like josiah (although he really butchered "stand by me"), michael johns (he's an australian) and some other little 16 year old kid, daniel maybe? anyway, i have yet to decide about the girls. in any case i'm glad it's back, it keeps me occupied :)
anyway i am in much better spirits today having shifted my mindset about what is actually going on in less than 10 months. yes i am marrying the man i love and want to spend the rest of my life with...that is really all. that. matters.
tonight we're going to z tejas for vincents birthday dinner! almost happy birthday vincent!
