"you say i'm crazy, i've got your crazy"--britney spears
what i have done today -
first i had to go to the dr to get some paperwork filled out for my visa to saudi. we planned on just using my results from my physical earlier this year, but they requested copies of the results and it turns out i need a physical within 90 dates of deparature... of course they did, so i spent the next 2 hours having eye tests, about a gallon of blood drawn and xrays done, wheeeeee. oh the things we will do for love. i promise i don't have any communicable diseases!
i got to work and had barely answered my email, when chris called and then we had an emergency safety meeting which i wasn't planning on attending but was basically given evil eyes to go to - good thing too because apparently over the weekend, the branch manager was sitting in his office and a bucket with a 25lb cement block fell through the ceiling about 6 feet from where he was. nice. he wrote a very "nice" letter to the construction people...but today they were doing some very sketchy work above us again, so basically insisted we all take lunch and leave the office for an hour. i was planning on going to lunch with my work bestie, ryan anyway, since he will be gone for the rest of the week, so we just left, then another friend, eric called us and ended up coming with us. we wanted to go to kyoto but apparently they won't open early (it was 11, they open at 11.30), so we wandered around to rio grande (where the real world house used to be) and proceeded to eat chips, salsa and queso, all the while consuming margaritas. also where ryan told me i was his favorite person in the office, aww, i told him he was my bestie, but changed it to "my best friend at work" because bestie sounded too girlie. over the past 2 years we have become really good friends. aw, i'm going to miss my work peeps :( then we went BACK to kyoto. by the time we got back to the office, we had been given the all clear that the ceiling would not fall on our heads. nice.
then i had to finish my last 3 hours of defensive driving, where our instructor is apparently the host for a show on the discovery channel called "it takes a thief". (i thought he looked familiar) he was funny and at least he let us out early. funnily enough, on the way TO defensive driving, I noticed my headlight was out...on the way HOME, I got pulled over...SERIOUSLY?!? I told the cop I was on my way home from defensive driving actually and he wrote me a warning for the headlight. SERIOUSLY!? who gets pulled over for a headlight? what are chances? i haven't been pulled over in 3 years and within the last month I have received a ticket and a warning - HELLOOOOOO i'm TRYING to leave the country - just let me!
i had planned on talking about some songs I'm loving, thanks to 96.7 and my pandora, but I will save that for another day.
The rest of the week goes as such:
Wednesday: major transition meeting at work, meeting with Omni coordinator, dinner with Chris' parents
Thursday: dentist appt (for refilling a filling), then driving to my doctor to confirm I don't have tuberculosis(really), work thanksgiving luncheon (yay!), happy hour
Friday: LAST DAY OF WORK!, going away party/shower
Saturday - Sunday: Houston for a wedding
Sunday/Monday: Twilight with Colleen
Tuesday: Sharla's going away dinner
Wednesday: CHRIS COMES BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
peace!
