"watching the others struggle through, makes me grin"--guster
so i'm really glad today is friday and SURPRISE! payday! best. feeling. ever.
last night i met the happy hour hellraisers for happy hour at vivo, google maps told me it was only 5 miles away from work, but in REAL TIME that meant 30 mins in traffic, i had actually even given time for traffic, but it wasn't enough apparently. sharla ordered me a margarita on happy hour price b/c i was going to be late, so that was nice, vincent showed up later and we all just chatted. shawna and colleen came to get us and by the time we got a table, i left b/c i had told my mom i would eat dinner with them. (sorry i was the killjoy)
my mom made wonderful tortilla soup, stolen from corina's wonderful recipe, and we talked about this and that. note: i have NEVER felt more popular than i did last night, my phone rang FOUR (4) times in about 15 mins. it was amazing. my parents were like wow, i told them it was my thursday night callers ;) anyways, i got confirmation that brad and his plus one will be attending my party! and jenni should be too (COME ON JENNI! seriously.) (he also wanted me to tell him i was proud of him for knowing my birthday was the 25th, i said no, b/c originally he thought it was the 24th, so he gets like .5 points for being a day off) i left pretty early and stopped by HEB to get some things, then home. i was on the computer, on the phone, watching tv, blah blah blah.
so...here is what i noticed last night, february sure seems to be the happening month. my friend joe is coming in this weekend, kitch said he might (uh huh), next weekend some other people are coming in, obvs, mostly for my party ;), the next weekend is mardi gras. i mean seriously, february. best. month. ever.
i wanted to stay in bed all morning because when my alarm went off, the cloudy skies made my room sooo dark and it was one of those stay in bed days, but alas, i couldn't :)
our office assistant gave us conversation hearts with our paychecks today, my work friend just gave me a conversation heart that said "be my hero" awesome. i love conversation hearts and i love valentines day....sort of. (i'm pretty sure NYE knocked it off my top 2 favorite holidays, but whatever)
so i really feel like good cheese enchiladas, does anyone want to go to casa garcias for dinner or somewhere else that i feel has good cheese enchiladas...?
