"you always said the day that you would leave me, would be a cold day in july"--dixie chicks
so yesterday i had the best lunch ever. not even joking, one of the girls from work and i went to this little place called san francisco bakery co. best soup and sandwich meal. ever. yum! i can't stop talking about it, i'm taking everyone there someday!
after work yesterday, i left amazingly early and made amazing time to shawna's apt, like 35 mins, why can't this be normal on a happy hour day? whatevs. so we hung out at shawna's, then shawna, colleen, sharla, vincent and i headed over to bennigans for vincent's birthday dinner. i ate everything on my plate, just call me piggy. boo. i got a salad and the french dip sandwich. since we were so full, we denied going to Amy's and i left to stop by my parents house.
i had some good talking time with my mom and then she opened her liquor cabinet to me for the party. let's just say, she's saved me about $50. thank youuu. i also grabbed more blankets (apparently there is a possibility for freezing rain on sat night and i want to make sure people will be warm should it be too dangerous to leave, please feel free to stay as long as necessary. i'm not asking anyone to risk their lives for me.), the karoake machine, and some other goodies. (i can't find Twister y'all, sorry) i got home a little later than planned. that didn't stop me from the rest of my chores which included: sweeping/mopping, laundry and putting away clothes. i think the house is ready to go, except i haven't vacuumed which i will do tomorrow. awesome :) can't wait!
last night i couldn't fall asleep for the life of me, i think it was almost 1.30am, not to mention with the crazy wind, for some reason my fence gate door was open and kept swinging open, which for a single girl alone in a house is kind of creepy. i think i fell asleep for about 2 hours and was awakened by more wind...it's CRAZY out there. don't worry guests, i have fixed the gate, i might have thrown out my back trying to push it closed, but oh well. it won't be opening anymore.
so i'm SOOO excited to see my houston girls tonight!! 6th street WAS an option, but helloooo, has anyone walked outside lately? noticed the weather forecast? there are many reasons NOT to go downtown and i hate to be a wuss, or whatever, but i just don't think it will happen. (also i have to wake up early on saturday and 6th street is just not conducive to that)
peace. out.
