"i'm the fear in your eyes, i'm the fire in your flies"--third eye blind
so this weekend was pretty chill. after work on friday, i met my mom at highland since she was up that direction and just made sense. i really hate highland mall, like really. (no offense if you shop there), it's just kind of ghetto and since i never shop there, i have no idea where i am and i get lost and confused and i just don't like it, boo! on the upside, i bought a pair of shoes, some pants (which i proceeded to return on sunday) and like two shirts. after that, we just went home and i was hungry but my parents don't have any food, so i went to subway to get a sandwich and then turned in pretty early.
my mom woke me up at like 7.30 on saturday and we set off to houston, we made really good time (only b/c i drove) and met my mom's friend diane at chili's for lunch. then we set off to destroy harwin. i got a new LV purse and wallet, and some jewelry, it was a good day. then we went back to diane's and rested and got ready for the reception. it ended up only being like 15 mins from my mom's house so we got there a little early and i ran into this girl, shanthi, who i knew in saudi (anyone i met from saudi now, just assume it's been 9+ years since i've seen them). so she ended up sitting with my mom and i at our table, thank goodness, we were the only people AT our table, haha. it was really pretty and fun to see everyone in their saris, they are SOO pretty and intricate. i also saw lara stewart, fellow KXA AND saudi alum, so it was like a very mini reunion. here are some pics, the pics of the couple are a little blurry, and the husband looks like a guy from some punk band, i don't know which, but anyways, my mom told him he looked like johnny depp and he took the compliment and ran with it (yeah maybe johnny on 21 jumpstreet, whatever, lol)

after the wedding which we apparently booked out early from, we just went to diane's and crashed. on sunday, my mom woke me up early AGAIN and we drove back to austin. i hung out wiht my dad some and then went to the mall (to return the pants) and left with like 2 more shirts and some underwear. awesome. i met shawna, sharla and colleen to see little miss sunshine. it was SOO cute and dramatic and sad and funny all at the same time. there were times i teared up and times i laughed. and i have to give some major props to steve carrell, not ONCE did i see him as michael scott from the office or the idiot from 40 year old virgin, i think he proved to me that he can act all different roles, so props to him!
after that i just went home, hope called me on the way and we talked some and i asked her for help with chris' bday gift, which i probably should have done in the first place, since ramzi is like one of his bffs. we came up with an idea, now i just have to do it. i went home, took some aleve (b/c i had a bad headache) and watched some old dvr shows, made dinner, talked to shea, played on the computer, cleaned up a little, talked to chris and then went to sleep. i meant to take my car in (AGAIN), but i think it would just be in my best interest to leave work EARLY instead, and take it AFTER work, as opposed to 7am.
anyways, today is monday, i had a bag all packed with my workout stuff to go straight to the gym after work and being the winner i am, i left it at home, boo!!! i'm trying to save gas and go right after work but it defeats the purpose to having to go home and come back, damn it. that's all i have planned so far.
so while at the mall yesterday, i realized how disturbing victoria's secret can be. now, i feel like it should just be women allowed in there (unless the guy is in there to buy something for her) but there is a bench outside the store. i think this is very well placed as i don't think it's very appropriate for husbands or boyfriends to be following their girlfriend around while she's trying to choose underwear, or how about the innocent shopper (myself) who is just trying to shop for some underwear, i don't need your BOYFRIEND in my face while i'm looking for sizes. "excuse me, can you move, i want to see that lacy number right there?" it's just awkward, but oh no, it gets better. i guess school starts this week? and of course every girl under the age of 15 (who i don't think should even BE in victoria's secret shopping for underwear, i didn't start shopping there til like sr. year of high school) needs new underwear for this exciting event. oh no you didn't bring your DAD (or stepdad? called 'bob', no lie) into this store! NO YOU DID NOT! and bob is standing with the teenage girl, who actually might be 12? looking at the sexy panties, you know the ones with the lace and bows, etc? do i want my dad to see my underwear? do i want to be a dad shopping with my DAUGHTER and see her buying this underwear? NO and NO! geeeez, go to target, c'mon now! boooo.
and that's my rant.
peace.
