"what a day for a daydream"

I am so excited right now, it's that time again, the time I wait for every year, where the next 4 months of my life are spent hoping, wishing, dvr-ing, listening and voting! It's American Idol time!!! Season 7, I just realized how crazy it is that they are in freaking season 7. how long have i watched this show for? people that audition have been heard saying "i've watched this show since i was 9"..good Lord, how old am i? boo. in any case, AI time means show recap time so for the next 4 months, every tues and weds (and maybe thurs right now which is the results show) i will be updating the blog with my thoughts, etc.

So here goes, tonight it was the boys night. from the auditions i already had a few favorites and they have not let me down so far. What I'm goign to do is post pics for my favorites and then talk about all the auditions. I'll try to make it short and sweet.

In no particular order

David Cook - He sang "Happy Together" and i thought it was pretty good. He has been a favorite of mine since the auditions and he may be my next chris daughtry...oh the love I have for him. anyway, i wouldn't consider him the best singer but he has a cool rock edge to his music and gave a cool twist to the song.

Jason Castro - not only is he from texas but the first thing i noticed were his eyes (i am a sucker for blue eyes, sorry chris), they are an amazing blue. he didn't get very much air time during the auditions, but his song today was so fun! he sang the "what a day for a daydream" song, whatever the title may be. and he even played his own guitar and it was just so fun, sort of jack johnson-y, catchy, he made it original, i would def buy this album if he made one

Michael Johns - another favorite from the auditions. he has an australian accent, need i say more? he sang "light my fire", it was pretty good. he's had great auditions and tonight was no different.

And the others...
David Archuleta - he's 17, but he doesn't sing like a 17 year old. tonight he sang, "Shop Around" (it was 60s night), I thought he started off shaky, but for the youngest contestant he really doesn't sing like one, he has a very clean voice. He's just really cute, I can't imagine he'll win but he may make the top 12, and he doesn't resemble those other lame 17 year olds who have been in the competition.
David Hernandez - I liked him when he auditioned but not sure how far he will make it. he's not a bad singer just not in my top 4 yet. he sang "midnight hour"
Chikezie - yes, he only goes by his first name. he wore an orange suit. he sang a song i'd never heard of. he reminded me a bit of ruben studdard.
Jason Yeager - we'll call him the "hot dad", he's 28 and has a kid and he sang "moon river", one of my fav songs, but it was unfortunately a little boring
Robbie Carrico - He will probably make it to the top 12, he's pretty good. he's got the rocker "bo bice" thing going for him, he sang "One is the Loneliest Number".
Danny Noriega - he sang "jailhouse rock", i hope he goes home. enough said.
Luke Menard - i don't know the name of what he sang, it was kind of boring. but bless his heart, i always feel bad for them when there are obviously better singers out there. he will probably go home on thursday
Colton Berry - He sang "Suspicious minds" which is my favorite Elvis song ever. Of course no one can compare to Chris Daughtry (he sang that on the episode he got kicked off of - yes i remember that) and of course Elvis. It wasn't awful, but we'll see..
Garrett Haley - also 17, he has really long curly hair, he sang "breaking up is hard to do". i think he needs a little bit of experience and he seems really shy. at this point, i would say that no one is awful to listen to which is a nice change from some of the seasons when it seems like they put randoms in the show

In any case, stay tuned for the girls' singing tomorrow (I don't really have any favorites yet). I hope I can keep all you guys in the loop who are watcihng "big brother" and other shows this season :)

also let's talk about how excited i am that i'm with AT&T and I can vote through text messaging and i have unlimited text messages! get.ex.cited.

ps. since when is brian austin green in a tv show where he is not david silver? lol

peace
